United Way of North Central Iowa Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

United Way of North Central Iowa strives to be a model of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We seek to represent and advocate for the many people who proudly make up our community and we value and promote inclusiveness in all aspects of our work. We recognize racial and ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to racial disparities that have existed in the past and persist in the present.

In all levels of staff and governance, United Way of North Central Iowa seeks to engage the entire community in our work without regard to race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity, & expression, disability, sexual orientation, veteran-status, familial status or socio-economic status. That commitment will be reflected in all aspects of United Way’s work – service delivery, staffing, or volunteer participation.

We believe that each United Way of North Central Iowa community member, donor, volunteer, advocate, and employee must have equal access to addressing community issues. We recognize that we have the role, responsibility, and opportunity to partner across organizations throughout the community to close equity gaps and ensure all north Iowans have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of what it means to LIVE UNITED.
