Community Impact Teams Volunteer Sign-up

Every year, United Way of North Central Iowa works to raise funding to address north central Iowa’s most pressing needs.  As a community based organization, it is imperative that the money raised through our generous local donors be distributed through community decision in a manner that is transparent, fair, and meets the needs of our region.  We accomplish this goal through Community Impact Teams. These teams consist of local community volunteers who review our funding applications. Anyone who has an interest in the success of our community and would like to help United Way of North Central Iowa accomplish their mission is qualified. This opportunity exposes volunteers to our local nonprofit community, the needs of our community, all while serving alongside new and interesting people.  

Schedule Information:

Community Impact Volunteer Training (Hour long training)
February 3rd or 4th

Group Discussion Meetings (Approximately 1-2 hours in length)

Panel Chair: The panel chair serves as lead of their Community Impact Team and represents the team at the Executive Committee meeting at the end of the process.
Attends four meetings:
-CIT Training (1 hr.)
-Community Impact Group Meeting (1-2 hrs.)
-Community Impact Agency Meeting (6-7 hrs.)
-Community Impact Executive Team Meeting (1 hr.)

Panel Member: Volunteers who have an interest in the health and human care needs in north central Iowa around the issues of education, income and health review nonprofit requests for funding from United Way of North Central Iowa.
Attends three meetings:
-CIT Training (1 hr.)
-Community Impact Group Meeting (1-2 hrs.)
-Community Impact Agency Meeting (6-7 hrs.)
